"FOLDED TREE" - RIBA SHOPFRONT

Whilst at Arup Associates, Suzanne was part of the team of Folded Tree, a collaboration between Arup Associates and UK Architect Arthur Mamou-Mani.

This giant origami installation was part of the RIBA Shanghai Window Display Project 2014. The Folded Tree was designed to activate the store front of Davidson Tsui in Xintiandi Style Shanghai. Customers and passers-by could interact with the installation by posing in the window “wearing” an oversized architectural “hat” and “dress” that animate the windows façade of the shop. The curved feminine form of the exterior contrasted with the masculine triangular interior and reflects the notion of the duality (yin-yang) in Chinese culture.
