Katt studied at The Melbourne University with Bachelor of Planning and Design (Architecture) and graduated with Bachelor of Architecture at the RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia. He then moved to Shanghai and joined the Australia-base company BAU International. Over his 5 years of intensive professional experience with the company in this rapidly developing region, he managed to work in various projects of different scales, from master plans to small scale pavilion and landscape projects, from design competition to built projects. In roles as Design Architect and Project Architect, Katt applies his strong design skill in projects include Shanghai Waigaoqiao Arts and Cultural Center Competition, Shanghai Qingpu Jindi Yunhu Supermarket, 2010 Shanghai World Expo Bridge Competition, Hangzhou Xiaoshan Linjiang New City Government Building, Kunshan Lianhu Park Café, Suzhou Qingshan Resort Phase II and more.
Katt has worked in some design competitions with finalist entry after he left BAU. Katt joined Germany base company Logon shortly in 2012 working on strategy planning and design of refurbishment project. He always holds a strong interest in revitalize the aged building back to a new life with new identity and value.
Before long Katt seized the chance to join Safdie Architects and became one of the Project Architects on the massive scale mixed used project Raffles Cities Chongqing, where he exposed to new responsibility of daily coordination and project management effort for 7 years from the early design development stage through to the end of construction phase, focusing on residential towers design, tower façade design and the conservatory interior design. With strong problem-solving skill and unremitting effort, Katt coordinated effectively with client teams, international design consultants, contractors and government authorities to deliver the design vision while meeting programmatic, technical and code requirement throughout the project phases.
Katt was co-worker of Eric at Safdie. Katt joined O&O Studio in early 2020 as a partner.
